In case some of you missed it, this weekend, the incredible Emily Nunn who pens the hilarious and wonderful newsletter The Department of Salad, included not one, but two issues, featuring salads from Colu Cooks: Easy Fancy Food including Chicories with Tuna, Fennel, and Old-School Italian Dressing.
If you don’t already subscribe to her newsletter, please do. It is the most fun and has me cackling on the regular. Her writing is ever so clever. To say I’m chuffed is an understatement. Emily, thank you so much again.
This weekend was also Easter. I love hosting an Italian Easter, and I very much missed having everyone over. I even got weepy… But, I was lucky to find a spot in Marseille that had mortadella, which temporarily hit the spot.
We also took a beautiful walk along the beach where there were many people swimming in the ocean. If I had had my suit with me, I too would have jumped right in.
The food in Marseille was impressive. We’ve had a number of outstanding and inspiring meals by talented young chefs. And, we found them all by word of mouth from people working in hospitality. Everyone was so helpful, kind and eager to share their favorite places. There is a lovely sense of comradery. I’m excited to see how things continue to evolve there, the city and the people have a special energy.
