Dear friends, hello!
Writing to remind you that this week is when
and I will share our monthly “Double Take” column. This month we took broad strokes and went simply with “summer bounty that’s not pasta.” I’m excited so share my recipe with you! Have you pre-ordered her new Nights and Weekends cookbook yet? We’ll be going live on Friday at 9:30 am EST as well to answer any questions. I hope you’ll join us!
Before I scoot.
’s What I Learnt from Being Disinherited piece touched me deeply. I think you’ll see by the feedback that there is a good chance it will touch you too. The grief is real.Oh, and I wrote a poem yesterday about my aging body. It made me laugh, it made me cry, I wasn’t sure I’d share it, but I’m leaning into being my authentic self, for better, for worse.
See you Friday!
Body Aches
My body aches in places that I have yet to know.
Very slow, quite steady, they settle in my bones.
A jab, a knock, each day another verse.
I try to meet them graciously, but it feels as though I'm cursed.
Swift in their arrival, but at the same time slow.
I wish this to pain on no one, and when I'm in its throes,
I stretch, I groan, I weep at night.
Lucky to be here, still. I try. I will. I fight.
With love,
Colu
