I’m just back from a girls weekend in the Adirondacks and I am thrilled to share that I didn't cook a thing. We stayed with our friend Isabel in her family’s home that was built in the early 1900s and where the Great Lake Sacandaga now sits. It was a proper fall weekend with dog walks, leaf peeping, and even a dip in the lake (fueled by some liquid mezcal courage) by the more adventurous two in our group.

Knowing I was in the very capable hands of six very good cooks (none of whom work in this cuckoo industry) was absolutely delightful. The text exchange in planning was also refreshing. Kristi offered to bring homemade manti (recipe forthcoming), Julia claimed ribeyes, Isabel a one-pan Ottolenghi pasta dish (my gift to you) and Megan with two beautiful salads.
