A Recipe Outtake Worthy of a Debut
We’ve reached late summer and the crickets chirp from dawn into the night - a score for languid days.
The weather here has been a bit glum this week. After a bright, dry and blustery July, August has been gray and damp. I’m hoping this will shift soon. We have very special visitors arriving for a week on Monday and it is my duty to show a three-going-on-fourteen-year old a special beach vacation. We don’t have children, so her anticipated visit has me excited as a camp counselor. I will join her in ice cream cone eating, sand castle building, and shell collecting - should those be on her list of things to do of course. Until then…
I thought it would be fun to share a recipe that didn’t make it's way into the final cut of Colu Cooks: Easy Fancy Food. It’s not because the recipe isn’t beloved, but sometimes do to page count, photo spreads, etc., one has to make tough choices. She is certainly overdue for her closeup and I couldn’t think of a better audience for her to make her debut. It’s nightshade season after all…
